Echo, or hearing my own translation

If your words come back to you translated, the other phone's microphone is picking up the interpreter.

  1. 1

Hold the phone to your ear instead of using Speaker. The translation plays through the earpiece by default; speakerphone makes echo much more likely.

  2. 2

Even better, use earphones (wired or Bluetooth).

  3. 3

Ask the other person to do the same — echo usually starts on the phone that plays the translation out loud.

  4. 4

Set up your voice signature: it cuts any sound that is not your voice, including the interpreter.

  5. 5

Move away from TVs, radios and other people talking, and lower the volume a little.

Good to know
MyInterpreter also discards any phrase that repeats what the phone played in the last few seconds. Still hearing echo? Contact support and tell us both phone models.
