Verify a certified record

Check that a record is intact, when it was made and that both people agreed — inside or outside MyInterpreter.

  1. 1

Open the certified call in Calls and tap Verify. A public proof page opens; it shows no content, only fingerprints, signatures and timestamps.

  2. 2

Look for VALID: the manifest fingerprint matches, the device signatures check out against their public keys, the RFC 3161 timestamp is valid and the Bitcoin block is confirmed.

  3. 3

The Bitcoin anchor takes about 1–2 hours after the call; until then the badge reads Recorded, then Certified · anchored in Bitcoin.

  4. 4

To check it without us, tap Download signed package (only on request). It contains the manifest, the phrases, the audio, the .tsr timestamp and the .ots file.

  5. 5

Anyone can verify the .ots file with the free OpenTimestamps tools (ots verify or opentimestamps.org) and the signatures with the public keys in the package.

Good to know
A valid certificate proves integrity, time, origin and consent. It does not prove that the translation is correct — that is why the original audio is kept.
