Listen mode at a conference or talk
Hear a speaker in your language through your earphones.

Connect your earphones (see why earphones are required).

Tap + › Listen & translate.

Choose the direction, for example English → Português, or Detect to let the app find the speaker's language.

Point the bottom of your iPhone toward the speaker or the room's loudspeaker and tap Start.

Turn on Show text if you also want to read the translation on screen.

Tap Stop when you are done.
Good to know
Nothing is recorded: the sound is processed on your phone and discarded right away. A talk with a microphone and a sound system works best; crosstalk and loud music lower the quality.Still stuck?
