Why earphones are required in listen mode

Without earphones the translation would disturb others and loop back into the microphone.

   In listen mode the translation plays only in your earphones. Any wired or Bluetooth earphones work.

   The app checks that earphones are connected before it starts. If not, you see Connect earphones to start.

   Without earphones, the translation would come out of the loudspeaker, disturb people around you and be picked up again by the microphone.

   MyInterpreter listens with the iPhone's own microphone, not the earphones' — earphone microphones lower the sound quality to "call" mode.
